The Dachstein (Austria) 2010 Expedition site is now up and running on facebook so if anyone's interested in going then feel free to join. There are currently 86 people on the list but this will somehow need to become no more than 40 or I'll be spending all summer caving with a clipboard....
Dates this year are from Saturday 31st July until Sunday 29th August, although you can come for as short or long a period as you want. Cost is minimal & we have a variety of projects, most notable of which is the continuing exploration of a 750m deep monster that is very, very close to making a connection with the Hirlatz Hole, the 1.1km deep & 96km long big-mama of the region. If we joined them we'd have something that was about 1.5km deep & the finest trip in the world. The day that happens will coincide with the day when I burn all my caving kit & write my memoirs
We're also running our annual Expedition Training Workshop that is specifically designed for the Dachstein crew but others are welcome. Again, it can be found on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=105906539431949) or search for "Cave Expedition Training Weekend 2010". I'll put more info up on the "UK Caving" section as not many people seem to look at the Expedition bit....
