2 Compass Clino Measurements?

Many thanks to the SUSS side of the Tresviso Expedition for a good weekend, TommyM and 2xw reintroduced me to Surveying.

I've just found Brendan's excellent guide on here https://ukcaving.com/board/index.php?topic=19274.0

In that guide there's some example/Dummy? Data for J(G)ingling hole, the data is familiar in set out to what I was shown at the weekend.

However there are two Compass and Clino Readings, they both seem to be "forward" measurements (ie Subtlety different). is this to improve accuracy and if so, how does it work when you transfer this data to a notepad.svx file?
Do you put two readings in somehow, or do you average readings when you input them?

I think I've got it. I've read the Survex documentation on the website.

It seems to just suggest you just put in two lines for the Tape, Compass, Clino measurements, and the software will pick up that these are parallel measurements and average them. ;using the same from to station numbers.

It seems to suggest this is a standard way that "Pocket-topo" outputs data? (ie duplicate measurements)
