I've just spotted the following on http://www.safetynews.co.uk/

"British speleologists rescued in Chartreuse massif

A rescue team of the CRS Alpes (Compagnie Republicaine de Securite) rescued 2 British speleologists on Wednesday after friends raised an alarm over their failure to return from the Glas cave under the Crolles ridge in the Chartreuse massif near Grenoble.

The speleologists had set off on Tuesday, 1 is believed to have fractured an ankle."

We're off to the Dent De Crolles a week today.  Any advice, English route descriptions etc.. gratefully received.

Anyone know any good canyons or other caving trips?

Certainly got their finger on the pulse of safety news though. Particularly liked this headline from last month:

"Reversing HGV's can be deadly if done without care"

...you can't really argue with that  :)
