Sheffield USS are currently undertaking a big effort to raise some funds for CRO and UWFRA in the wake of the rescue of 5 of our members from Providence Pot in March.

We have a couple of events planned for this effort. On 30th June a big group of us are running and walking the Wharfdale Three Peaks challenge. This has attracted a storm of media attention inlcuding this piece in the Craven Herald who bloody loved the rescue:

We've opened a JustGiving page for this event, so if anyone would like to donate to support our challenge please visit this page:

More immediately, on Thursday we're holding an "Auction of Promises", whereby people nominate themselves to undertake a task and others bid on their services with the money raising being split between CRO and UWFRA. This is open to anyone so if any cavers from the wider caving community would like to come along and bid on the services of poor students then please do! This will take place in the beer garden of the Cobden View pub in Sheffield from 8.30pm. For those unable to attend the event itself but still wanting to take part, you can pledge your promises via this google sheet:

I'll also try to live stream the event to the SUSS facebook page so if you'd like to bid you can watch it and bid remotely. Otherwise, just tune in for a bit of a laugh.
