Hey all,

Another update from LUSS in the making!

As shall get repetitive, THANK YOU to everyone who have helped and are currently helping us out - you are all awesome!

I've put together a little video for a presentation we'll be making to our students union so they can actually understand what caving is. Thought I may as well publicly publish the video too as it gives a fair summary of what we've been up to so far.

Grand to see younger cavers having such a great time!  (y)

As your club flourishes, it might be worth someone considering putting together a history of caving by Lancaster students & ex students. The original LUSS was a very effective bunch who contributed such a lot to our store of speleological knowledge. Several of their members are still very active of course (so available to be consulted). LUSS also published a great deal of excellent material, so many of the club's discoveries, achievements and research projects are there to be read about in detail.

If the new LUSS reaches the stage in future where its own journal is being contemplated, such a description of your club's long provenance might make a valuable first article.

Just a thought . . .    ;)

Hi Deary65, congratulations to all for the excellent work recreating LUSS.

You may want to use www,newtocaving.com in your presentation.  There's an excellent account of a caver's first trip underground and a short video + lots of inspiring photos and info  ;)

We also have posters which you are welcome to have.

Cheers, Jane
