Hi. I am planning a trip to Spain in 2006 and I would like to complete the Hundidero-Gato through trip. Does anyone have a copy of the cave system topography plan/profile for this system? In English if possible.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi AndyF

Thanks for the reply. I have a copy of the drawing already. Unfortunately when I try making it bigger the print quality is c**p. Hopefully, someone may be able to point me in the right direction.

The above link has some pictures of the cave system if you are interested.

Have you tried the BCRA library. They were very helpful with a Dent De Crolles survey when I needed one.

PS This does look a great cave. I'd never heard of it before...

Here is a reference from "Great Caves of the World):

(Puch, op.cit., 1981 Partial Plan)

I've no idea how to track that down though...

It's for precisely that reason that I began www.cavesurveys.com,
but I've not had many people advertise their surveys yet.
I suppose once we gain a 'critical mass' then it might take off.

The idea of the site is that a knobbled version of the survey (much simplified, compressed and encrypted) is presented on the site for simple viewing.
This enables the viewer to check that it is indeed the correct survey.
Then immediately underneath is a link to the publisher, in order to obtain a proper copy.
It's written in as simple HTML as possible so that the widest range of browsers can view it, and it is multi-lingual. (I'm currently awaiting checking of my Russian translation) До свидания

don't know if this is the place you're after:

http://www.pangea-ronda.com/es/actividades/p_travesiagato.html

and they have an enquiry form you can request additional info on.

also:

it looks like it 's in Guia de las Cuevas de Málaga by JOSE ANTONIO BERROCAL / LORETO WALLACE which is available from La Tienda Verde in Madrid for 7.5 euros (they have an English web site and are usually very helpful)
http://www.tiendaverde.org/

And:

there is a description on the web site already mentioned:

http://espeleo.com/cientifica/hundidero-gato.htm

hope this helps - looks like a fun trip.

There is a survey and description (in Spanish) in "Grandes Travesias - 40 Integrales Espanolas" ISBN 84-605-2564-3 (1995). Send me a private message if you want a photocopy

Just to say thanks to everyone for their advice especially to martinr for the information you sent via email. It has printed out OK and I have managed to generate a rough translation from Spanish to English by using the Babel Fish Translation web site.

Andy B,

Did your trip go ahead? I was thinking of doing this through trip as part of a short jaunt to Spain in October, do you have any information or advice?
