Eldon hole and Oxlow advice.

Hi all,

Am going to try and do a trip to the bottom of the daylight lit section of Eldon hole tomorrow and then walk across to Oxlow and go to the West chamber and back. I haven't done much rigging on larger pitches before and neither have I visited either of these caves previously, so I was wondering if anyone had any useful tips or bits of info that would make the trips a bit easier. Thanks.

The only tip I would give is if you do the North Gully route in Eldon Hole, be careful with the last bolt on the pitch as it is a bit of a hanging rebelay, and with any in-situ rope (as there usually is) plus your karabiner/maillon clipped into the P hanger, if you also clip your cowstail krab into it, it may be difficult to unclip it afterwards once you have weighted your rope. I usually clip a karabiner to the bolt and then a second one clipped to the first. I clip my short cowstaili to the top karabiner and the rope to the lower one which makes it a lot easier to unclip your cowstail afterwards.

Have a good trip, both are excellent.
