The induction/refresher/open day that DCRO had to cancel in January because of the snow has been re-scheduled for Saturday 1 June.
This day is not only aimed at team members wanting a refresher or just a good day, or probationers needing an induction day but any cavers who might be thinking of joining or merely wanting to find out about cave rescue.
The format will be the same as before - a general briefing on cave rescue work and how the team operates and workshops on rescue rigging/hauling, stretcher loading and carrying, communications and first aid. There is no charge and there are even free refreshments and lunch (if you like vegetable soup and cheese sandwiches). The venue will be Buxton Fire and Rescue Centre and starting time will be 10.00.
More detailed information will be circulated nearer the time to those who wish to attend.
