How many of you plan to attend the UIS Congress next year?
Registration ought to be possible on-line soon:

If enough people have plans in common, then pooling of car hire would make good economic sense, and finding someone to share a dorm room with would halve your accommodation costs.

The last time the congress was in Texas didn't certain British cavers display an admirable capacity for beer-drinking?
(Oh no, does that mean there's a reputation to be upheld?)

Read the UIS Congress website, and add a post to this topic if you're seriously interested.

I would like to go and am trying to persuade the wife to go. She might come out of caving retirement again if the caves were warm and dry! I was going to look at website shortly having just got back from hols and thinking about the next trip.

I've been to two NSS Conventions. Both have been brilliant.

This is an NSS Convention with knobs on.

So yes, I'm going.

Was that the year a certain Hazel Barton was in charge of ordering the barrels?

Hazel is British but adopted by the Yanks. She naturally ordered based on UK cavers consumption rates which are a tad higher than your American caver.

So there was JRat and Sparrow making a valiant effort to drink the vast excess of beer.

Couldn't let Hazel down, now could they?
