Metall drill with SDS-Plus? // Review ALPEN MultiCut drill

We dig a tunnel in search of a cave. The tunnel is fitted with crash barriers (B-profile, 80x120cm). The guardrails are 4-5mm thick and are made of galvanized steel.
In order to avoid having to constantly change the drilling machine or the chuck when connecting the guard rail elements, we were looking for a metal drill with SDS-Plus holder.
Conclusion: there is none.
As a compromise we have tried the ALPEN MultiCut drill bit in the version 12x160mm (www.alpen-drills.com).
Conclusion: He has not even lasted 6 holes and then wrinkle. Look at the pictures. That does not work.
Do you have any recommendations?

Thanks, happy digging and cheers.

It is possible to get an SDS to chuck conversion, which will allow you to use normal metal cutting bits.  Just remember to turn the hammer action Off

Myself and another TSG member both have the Matika DRR243. You can change the SDS chuck for keyless one for normal drill bits just remember to turn off the hammer.

I?ve used it to drill metal for fitting a lid with no issues. The fact you can keep the bits in the chucks and swap them back and forth quickly is also great for installing lots of bolts!

Yep - I'm the other one with that model - the alternative standard chuck is very high quality. I've drilled through galvanised angle to 14mm with mine, no problem. And that was outdoors lying down on a shaft top in the rain. A really good-quality bit and some cutting fluid/spray definitely helps!

@Minion and Tseralo, thanks f?r that note.
@beardedboy, thanks man for that interesting note! Too bad that there are no 12mm drills

Having done something not to dissimilar, use an SDS chuck converter then use normal steel bits of a good quality. Depending upon what you're drilling maybe a hardened bit. Start off with a centre punch to mark the metal where you want to drill, use a pilot hole first and drill at high speed with cutting compound. Once this has been drilled increase the dia in steps to your desired final dia.
