After about 5 years of exploring on the border of Haute Marne and Haute Saone departements in France we are glad to show you some first high quality photo?s of the new cave. The cave is still in exploration so not open for other cavers yet. But this will the case later. First we have still a lot to explore and conserve.

Hereby the report of the last expedition

Leclused,

A Great Discovery and Exploration.

You and your team have done well here, sounds like a lot of investigation has taken place along the way.

The photographs show some magnificent features, The Chamber is certainly an impressive void.

Are the team hoping to find the dry entrance which is mentioned as a distinct possibility?

I am looking forward to reading more.

Thank You for sharing and well done Leclused.

Richard.

We currently have a dry entrance for the part between s2 and s6. For the part post S6 we are working on two spots to get in without diving. Next week a team is going to continue the exploration. We are stil missing around 1500m between sinkhole and furthest point explored via the spring. Exploration trips are becoming very hard now due to the distances post s6.

But we will continue and after the Rigotte we continue a nearby other system the Vannon which is currently explored for about 1600m up to a S2.  The spring was dived in 2018 and the S1 measured 370m followed by 1200m dry passage.

So still years of exploration to come.

The full report of the 6 exploration trips of 2020 is now online.

Last trip we saw the underground Rigotte river for the first time in high water conditions.

The report (in dutch) can be found here : https://scavalon.blogspot.com/2020/12/de-vierde-reeks-expedities-naar-vannon.html

We are still working on 2nd dry entrance to get behind S6.
