Hello lovely student cavers! With the AGM coming up, it has been decided that competitions must be had. So here we are. to enter you simply have to specify which university club you are a member of, and your entry (obviously). Anyway, here are your competitions. Deadline will be on the stroke of midnight going into the 24th of November (the day of the AGM). Separate threads will be made for each of the competitions.
Why I joined the caving club
As the title suggest, write a short piece of writing about why you joined the club, and why you stuck around. This could well be used as a draw for freshers, explaining what's so great about your club, and why they should join you. I'm expecting my heartstrings to be pulled on, and to feel pride for clubs I'm not even a member of.
Write a caving song
For too long, Rostam has held all the cards. It's time for all of us to rise up and take the lyricist reins from him. The song could be about the sport, the drinking, or something else, as long as it links to caving. Bonus points if you can come up with some sheet music.
Design a new CHECC logo
Botch, our great overlord, has decreed that CHECC needs a new logo, and we would like you lot to design something for us. We would prefer something that isn't too obscene, so get your artistic caps on, and lets see what you can come up with!
A trip report from your favourite cave
Why is it your favourite cave? What makes it great? Why do you believe everyone else should go and visit it? This can be as long or short as you want, but we have to get some sense of the cave, and its fun-ness. Pictures are recommended, but not essential.
Prizes are TBC, but a lovely helmet, headlight, and personal tacklesack are some of the prizes up for grabs! Keep your eyes open for the individual threats coming soon to a caving forum near you!
