...tend to be solo day outings outbound by DR650 an hour from residence.
My last shared journey was August 17, 2014, which was to be a downhill
cut through public-use timber harvest area thick with thorny shrubs.  Dave
F., second generation Mexico immigrant and employed Diesel mechanic, led
with a Mexican style machete.  I followed with a hand pruner, hand saw,
and short handle hoe. It started with us walking an overgrown dirt road.
It took 20 minutes of slash southward before turning east off a northern
hill crest  We knotted pieces of orange non-adhesive tape head high.  All
following trim work would follow previous to minimize our footprint effect.
Google Earth aerial photography let me show Dave the road access.  Tree
and brush cover hid the unexplored cave entrances found by myself.  Also,
have 1962 geology report denoting a cold draft up through loose brownish-
grey stone at cave area with bituminous odor when broken.  That vent has
yet to be located.  Unusual game trail consisting of scuffed soil patches has
suggested bounding gait of animal transit rather than trot or walk.  This
cave area contains something interested in valley pastures below.  Desire
opinions. One solid stone cave entry had mud being tracked out of interior.
We cut for about two hours before Dave's spouse contacted him by orbital
communication asking for him to return her SUV.  We both left as the work
could wait for cooler weather.
