Scurion battery problem

One of my Scurion batteries isn't working properly. When I plug it into the charger, the green light comes on, suggesting it's fully charged. But it doesn't seem to be producing an output: the light doesn't work when got connected to it.

Does anyone have any ideas what this might be causing this or how to remedy it?

The timing is awkward because next week, I am going on a four day trip down Riesending in Germany, and I don't want to run out of light!

Does it turn red before going green, or is it straight to green? Sounds like the protection board might be knackered - a fairly common problem. Can you unplug your charger from the wall, plug in the battery then plug it back in the wall, that sometimes fixes it.

How's your soldering? Happy to send you the parts to replace the board so you can do it yourself.

The early type battery is shrink wrapped cells and prone to damage. Usually some water gets in and totals the protection board. Cells maybe salvageable but scrap battery.

Later type top comes off with a torx bit and the electronics and cells can be accessed and repaired or replaced.

It sounds to me like the same issue as pwhole, if its later type battery take a look yourself. I was not impressed with the insulation between PCB and cells, neither did the wire solder easily, possible origin of the fault.

I dont even drink alcohol and yet look what I have done.

I read quickly "Scurion" as "Stenlight", senile dementia.

Ignore all, sorry.

It could be worth getting in touch with Mark Smith at MTB Batteries.

He fixed one of my mountain bike light batteries a treat! (Well it is his job / business after all!)
I'm not in any way affiliated with MTB Batteries. Just recognizing good service.
