I have just got my camera following recommendations from some of you.
I picked up a Canon A95.
So far i have found the manual mode will trigger the slave + flash correctly when i filter the on camera flash.
OK I just got the camera a few hours ago so my lab has been the kitchen.
Next week I shall be able to report proper as im going under at the weekend
The beauty is that the camera + slave + flash gun all fit into my Peli 1050 box, which im used to carrying in my tackle bag.

yep i didnt try it out in a cave though.
this weekend i was in disused 2 mile train tunnell and I used it with my flash and slave and there was sombody else with other slaves so i have a few shots with multiple flashes. There is a manual mode on the A95 and this seems to be the only setting that will kill the pre flash that prematurly triggers the slave unit.
It is quite heavyand big as a compact camera goes
I am still trying to get time to read the manual.
You can get an adaptor for the lense and add a wide angle or tele lense.

However I have a Peli 1050 box and I was quite chuffed that I was able to fit my camera + slave+ flash.
