Here's a link to a 1995 article by the late Tony Knibbs on, well, lumens of bulbs. Some of the pictures of graphs seem to have gone away, but the tables are still there. So not so long ago a few dozen lumens was a luxury....

A good old AA incandescant Mini Maglite will chuck out about 14 lumens. Enough to get you out of a cave. Indeed an AA Maglite was attached to my lid for many years as a back up.

FX2 was nice, FX3 or an FX5, well, that was luxury. And add a halogen bulb to a Petzl Zoom, sorted!
