I'm sure some Silicon Valley company could create a flexible, disposable, video-projecting membrane that could display a computer-generated version of the wearer's mouth onto the front, so that the deaf could still partake in conversation. It would be ready two days before the pandemic ends.

Joking aside, they have used this concept on large lorries so that tiny cars stuck behind them can see if it's safe to overtake:
