It has just been reported to DCA on 9 Sept. 2004 that large rocks have been piled against the entrance of Devonshire Cavern, Matlock Bath preventing access.

It is probably best to avoid the cave until the DCA have sorted out the problem and restored normal access.

Devonshire Mine problem - Update

Enquiries have disclosed that the rocks blocking off the Devonshire Mine
gate were placed by persons unknown without the knowledge of the landowner.

The landowner has confirmed that she is satisfied with the present access
arrangements and is willing for this to continue. A working party is being
organised to remove the rocks from the site and, if possible, to prevent a
recurrence.

Please be patient and we will let you know when it's open again.

did that last night. Realised that I'd be out tonight, and if you dont repair that stuff - it just tears real easy.

I stitched it first. Seam seal over the stiching on the inside. Then large patch over the outside.
