Technical Concepts Ltd is a small company that designs and manufactures specialist mission critical products for the motion film industry and mining and quarrying industries.
We are now looking to recruit a new full time team member to work in the Whitefield area of Manchester. We need a motivated and hardworking technician, who already possesses and can demonstrate a high level of technical skill and quality focus.

Person Specification:
? Excellent organisational skills
? Able to work on own initiative and at a fast pace
? Highly dextrous and with a keen eye for detail
? Excellent work ethics: punctual, trustworthy, enthusiastic and willing to learn and provide input to production process
? Able to be quality focused at all times
? Have a relevant NVQ Level 4 qualification (HNC) in production / electronic engineering or equivalent time served experience
? A recent electronics degree engineering graduate with hands on project experience would be considered
Job Description:
Basic Skills:
? Read circuit diagrams
? Understanding parts lists and engineering drawings
? Be able to identify electronics parts
? Be able to use test equipment and do test procedures using equipment such as PSU?s, DMM?s and oscilloscopes
? IT literate
? Flashing of microcontrollers
? Fault find to component level
PCB Assembly and Soldering Skills:
? Manual placing and soldering conventional through hole components to PCBs
? Manual placing and soldering of SMD components, including sizes down to 0603, 0.5mm pitch IC?s
? Soldering wires
? PCB re-work using soldering irons and hot air solder station
? Knowledge of pick and place SMD machines, using simple stencil paste techniques and reflow ovens would be an advantage
Electro Mechanical Skills:
? Mechanical assembly using screws, nuts, washers, assembling panels, PCB pillars, spacers etc
? Electrical assembly using crimping tools, wire strippers, tinning, heat shrinking, hot air guns etc
? Electrical assembly and mounting of switches, battery boxes, LED Indicators, connectors etc
? Be able to use standard hand tools to carry out the full production process
? Use workshop equipment such as drill presses, mitre saws etc?
? Knowledge of using a desktop CNC router and 3D printer would be an advantage
Desirable Skills (but not essential):
? Some knowledge of electronics related CAD
? Some basic electronic design skills
? Microcontroller software writing in C and assemble
? Ability to build a circuit on veroboard from a circuit diagram
General Duties:
? Packing and preparing products for dispatch
? Tidying the workplace
? Checking and receiving goods
? Stock taking
? Kitting up parts for production
? Light to medium lifting
? Any other duties required to carry out normal business activities
Benefits:
? Hours of work ? 40 hours / week
? Salary ?22,000 to ?25,000 depending on experience
? Flexible working hours available on agreement, with standard working day being 08:00 to 16:00
