Entrance climbing holds in BPOTW?

Hi All,

Does anyone know anything about this modification we discovered today in the Bull Pot Of The Witches?

It seems that someone has felt that the entrance series freeclimb is too challenging for those who are new to climbing caves and spits(?) seem to have been left with climbing wall holds left in-situ.

Does anyone know why this was done? Feels a bit overkill to me - maybe in some mines this kind of thing might be ok - but BPOTW?

WTF  :chair:

Deeply sadden by this

I'm pretty sure that the climb has a set of P bolts at the top for a ladder and line
or SRT rope if the climb is too challenging

What is happening to the world....despair......

I've heard that someone is cultivating a spaghetti tree in the BPOTW shakehole.

According to their FB page, CRO have put in a planning application for ziplines between the summits of the 3 peaks.

Totally inappropriate and unnecessary. I've not been in BPOTW for many years but last time I must have been in my mid-fifties, not exactly the first flush of youth, and I had no difficulty in freeclimbing in and out. As Beardy says, you can easily rig a ladder or rope. Yet one more cave on the growing list of sites spoiled by pointless fixed aids.  :cautious:

Thank you for agreeing with me. I know I'm not the only one who is annoyed by this.
