This is probably not news to established divers but its something that I did not know.
Luxfer Aluminium cylinders made with 6082 and 6351 alloys require NDT testing every 12months as well as an Hydro test every 24months and the NDT test is about £60
All HOAL cylinders are made from 6082 and 6351.
Cylinders made prior to 1992 are 6351.
BS5045/3 Cylinders made prior to 1994 are 6351
To identify the alloy your cylinder is made from look for the suffix following the BS5045/3 marking.
A - 6082 (NDT Test Required)
B - 6351 (NDT Test Required)
C - 6061 Normal Hydro Test & Inspection
e.g. BS5045/3/C/S
This cylinder is made from 6061 alloy and does not require NDT
