Okay, from Mining History 18(3), Chris Heathcote mentions Barmaster's entries for Brunt Rake near Sterndale which ranged east-west; the location is a bit obscure but the majority of the known rakes around Earl Sterndale are north-south. He also mentions entries for two other mines on an east-west vein, Itterill's Mine which looks to be on the east side of Glutton dale going up onto Hitter Hill, and another mine to the west on the same rake which is recorded as crossing Parkhouse Hill, but the vein apparently crosses the road between Glutton Farm and Glutton Bridge. So, I think Brunt Rake is the best candidate. This article will be going online in the near future, along with the rest of vol.18, but our webmaster has been out of action.
