Buyning plug and feathers

I'm after some plug and feathers for general dig work. Does anyone recommend any particular retailer?

Amazon has a pack of 7 for ?14 which seems to me to be suspiciously cheap - I don't think digging consents allow leaving bits of chinesium in ruined boulders  :halo: :halo:

Anyone have any preferred length for this as well? I've been using some smallish 15mm dia ones but wondered whether lengthier or girthier was better?

Have been using these + 14 mm drill bit on Portland...

Seem to do the trick nicely but having not used anything else I can't compare.
Bought 2 packs about 18 months ago - think I've got 8 set of P & F left.  Dropped a couple down holes and bent some feathers being a bit optimistic.  You will need a pile of spare rubbers as they don't last that long when caught with a stray hammer!  I pick those up 25 at a time from ebay.

I bought these. 4 for ?24. They?re absolutely bomber, they?ve split some huge stuff over the years and still going strong

Thanks for the replies both.

Minion, I recognise the logo on those - they're the same brand that John Beck had (the ones I've been using). They must be bomber. Cheers!

Drilling 2 small holes, e.g. 8mm, a chisel's width apart and then hammering a chisel in works well in my experience.

This was 16mm holes and five  1"-ish chisels, no feathers. Obviously too big for digging but an example of just chisels on their own working well

I've used these ones too and think they are pretty tough.
