Has anyone done old ing recently? Last time i was in there (about a year ago) someone had removed the scaffold from part of the assault course (in the dismal hill part of the through trip) meaning it needed a very cold bit of swimming to get through. Does anyone know if its back?
It's freshers caving weekend for us so i wanted to know as they might not appreciate a cooling dip on their first trip! And asking saves me going to look on friday night!

Yes, I did the through trip about three weeks ago. There werre no scaffold bars, but lots rope rigged as a traverse. I just monkied along the ropes hand-over-hand and stayed dry. Cows tails might have made it easier.

It's a superb little trip, which I wasn't even aware of until I saw it mentioned on this forum.

Sounds interesting though and worthy of a visit at some point!

The artificial entrance to Dismal Hill has been blocked by a rather large boulder. Not sure why this has been done.
