West Twin Brook Adit, Burrington Combe

Following correspondence and site meetings involving UBSS, CSCC and Bristol Water access to West Twin Brook Adit is now available. Thanks to those who were involved.

Although the site is entirely non-challenging as far as cavers are concerned it does show interesting geological sequencing of the sedimentary rocks inside the north flank of the hillside. There is approximately 1,000ft of stooping horizontal tunnel, very muddy at first, which ends abruptly. It may be necessary for visitors to dig small rocks/mud away from the door - please avoid dropping the lock in the mud. Similar to Sandford Levy but without the side passages or pretty formations.
