If your interest in caves stretches into the unknown, then don't miss out on the very first joint BCRA-CHECC workshop weekend taking place in just over a months time.
With world leading experts (and fellow cavers) passing on their knowledge, for anyone interested in cave science this is not a weekend to be missed. This is your opportunity to learn the likes of dye tracing from John Gunn, and cave biology from Graham Proudlove.
The idea of the weekend is to be as hands on as possible, teaching people skills they can then apply on their own research projects, for instance as part of an expedition, a uni dissertation, a long term local project, anything. For which BCRA funding may also be available.
Being the first time such a weekend is going ahead, we're starting small, with spaces limited to ~10 and priority going to current students (at least to begin with). We'll be based at the DPC in Stoney Middleton, once you get yourself there the weekend should be ~?20 or less for food and accommodation.
If you're fancy joining then send me a message with your email address, and preferred area of research if you have one (e.g. biological, hydrological, archeological, geological etc.) spaces will be going on a first to message basis so don't hesitate. Further details about the workshops will be announce once confirmed.
Depending on the success of this weekend, there may well be a second similar weekend in the not too distant future. So even if you can't make this one, send me a message saying what you'd be interested in covering in future.
