The Symposium is being held on the 19th April in the back room of the Hunters on Mendip.  Topics include

Laser technology in underground surveying and the use of other sensor technology, including inertial, gravity etc. CO2 logging in caves. Water drip sensors for water discharge measurement in caves. Review of LED caving lights. Batteries for the 21st Century. Communications through coal seams. Speech Intelligibility over Noisy Radio Links. Cave telemetry. Cave surveying / exploration. Resistivity. There will also be an opportunity for various "discussion forums", depending on who is present and what the audience requests (home-made CO2 sensors, flashgun slave units ... whatever).
and we hope to show a few videos too.

Having been meaning to go to the symposium again this year, I will unfortunately not be able to make it.  Would it be possible for someone record the event as a podcast?  I have webspace available if hosting is an issue.

Both the Cave Technology Symposium and the Cave Surveying meet are open to all cavers, at whatever level of experience.  They both start at 1000hrs, the Cave Technology Symposium in the Hunters and the Cave Surveying meet in the Wessex hut.
