Tackle sack sewing repair in the Dales

I have a couple of club tackle sacks that I am repairing with glue but wouldn't mind a sewing reinforcement too.

Is there anywhere in the Dales that could do heavy duty sewing?  I've tried locally to me, and have one avenue to pursue yet, but so far no joy.

Yes - take them to Nelson's cobblers in Settle, opposite the post office. They've done repairs (and dive harness fabrication) for me from time to time. Really good old fashioned firm.

Get the items as clean as possible first though; prices are sensible and they normally do a good job.

They have been through the washing machine twice so are very clean , necessary for the glue work.

I think I know the shop; good call.

Also, if you happen to be anywhere near Darwen (maybe passing on the M65?) there is an excellent sadler very near the town centre. They've also done all sorts of jobs for me over the years - and their work is excellent. They made my most recent cave diving harness; the D rings at the back are big horse brasses, which have great tactile properties when fumbling with krabs behind your back, with cold, neoprene-clad, sausage fingers.

(Really this is in case it's useful for other folk to know, as I suspect Topcat doesn't often go over that way.)

Ask on the CPC Facebook group, we have a member who makes his own bags.

Not sure he does ?repairs? but you never know.

I'd second that, they sewed my wetsuit zip back in - well, quickly and at a reasonable price.
