We would take this opportunity to inform you of a series of proposed full weekend road closures of the A465 Heads of the Valley Trunk Road.

The series of closures are detailed below:-

1 20:30 on Friday 1st July 2016 to 06:00 on Monday 4th July 2016

3 20:30 on Friday 15th July 2016  to 06:00 on Monday 18th July 2016

We would apologise for the recent cancellation of Notification 73 in regard to a closure on 18th June due to inclement weather and we are sorry for any inconvenience that we caused.

Those works have now been rescheduled during the three weekends in July, we will be working at high level above the carriageway in the Gorge in preparation for excavation and removal of rock, the existing rock face netting, boulders, tree stumps - between Pont Harri and Nany yr Hafod.  Trial rock fracturing and rock breaking and rock transport from between the Welsh Water - Sewage Treatment Works and Water Treatment Work and the switching of traffic in various sections.

During the course of the closures full access will be maintained through the site for emergency services vehicles which will be escorted by our traffic management team. Also we intend to maintain controlled access across the closure at the Saleyard and Gilwern junctions. An outline of the crossover arrangements can be seen here: Saleyard ? MNCO09 TMA 18A and Gilwern ? MNCO09 TMA 19A

We will be providing a minibus service to replace the Stagecoach Service 3 on all three Saturday?s.

The Glanbaiden roundabout will be fully open with traffic from Abergavenny being able to use the roundabout to access Gilwern.
