Reservoir Hole book

Some time ago I gave a link to a photobook I created on Reservoir Hole. Several people expressed an interest in it  so over the last couple of years or so I have worked on producing an illustrated history of the cave, its exploration, geomorphology etc etc. It has 127 pages and is a full colour softback publication. I currently have just over a hundred copies available. Cost by post will be ?14-00 inclusive of  p&p (sent first class).  Proceeds are going to a good caving cause but which one I honestly haven't  decided upon yet. If anybody wants a copy can you PM me please. Payment can be made via  Paypal, cheque or BACS.

I hope you still have not referred to my excellent photographs as "snaps ". In any case I shall want a signed copy you can bring along on Tuesday.
I know a lot of hard work went into the compilation so it deserves to be a sell-out.

The book has not been officially launched to the public yet and this is likely to happen in a local bookshope. The OTC price is going to be in the region of ?14.99 so if you want the discounted price get your orders in soon. The launch is likely to be early November.

My copy arrived this morning.  A fantastic book with 258 colour photos, surveys etc.  Amazing.

Possibly the most profusely illustrated book on British caving. Oh if only it was a hardback but this shows just what an individual can do at home on his own computer. Possibly also the best UK single cave book so far as well. Well done Peter. A super book and it seems as though sales are going well. Good luck with the book signing at Chard this Saturday.

We have already bought our copy for the British Caving Library and it's really great!

Many thanks for putting this together and making it available.

Thank you all. Beginning to think the effort was worthwhile. I have some :idea: :idea:for other publications.

I happened on the good Dr Glanvill while walking with some children and along with Mr Chipchase they managed to entertain them for almost 40 minutes with lots of discovery and digging tales. In return I had the book pressed on me. (As always being well prepared Peter had one in his car   )

When we got back to the cottage there was a scramble to look at it. The children were well impressed, loved Peter's story of first caving at 14 and the great photo's.  This led to Willy Stanton and dry stone walling in some caves and 'can we go to Reservoir Hole?'

The book got passed around both children and adults ( I haven't had a look in yet  :(  )
So Pete & Nick thank you for entertaining the children  ( I think part of one conversation with one child was about the distance per second the moon travelled away from us

And Peter thank you so much for persuading me to buy the book.  Very well worth it.  Brilliant  ;)

Thanks Judi for the  unsolicited promo. I do hope some of those youngsters are as inspired as I was at that age. Otherwise it just us old codgers bumbling about till we fall off the perch (or down a hole).

I have names of some people who have expressed interest but I haven't from again. The reason I am posting is I am down to the last 30 or so. If you want a copy perhaps it is time to decide. I may do another print run but it is not certain!

Now down to about 10 copies excluding those required for people who have expressed an interest.  After these have sold a further print run will depend on initial orders. The books are printed in the UK and therefore time to get a reprint is within a fortnight rather than months! Interested parties email or PM me.
