Title: The Beast in the Cave
Post by: ZombieCake on November 16, 2018, 03:27:37 pm
Given the rise of Cthulhu in the last competition here's a link to a short story by H P Lovecraft in the early 1900s, the creator (or perhaps reporter) of Call of Cthulhu about a trip into Mammoth Cave.

As they say...
Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn
"In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming."

Sleep well!

Does it meet the following illumination 'requirement':

"We shall see that at which dogs howl in the dark, and that at which cats prick up their ears after midnight."

Maybe there's a reason H E Balch used a candle for illumination....   ;D
