Diamond Hall - Ease Gill

Does anyone know why the entrance to Diamond Hall in Ease Gill is taped off with conservation tape? Is there another way in here other than the climb up which the tape is “protecting”? It seems odd for a fairly sizeable section of a cave to be taped off, unless I am missing something.

I asked this weekend - the tape is to help people stay on the "main route" through that part of the system. It's fine to step over it to visit Diamond Hall as long as the usual precautions are taken. Hope it's good!

Thanks for that Hannah as well as whoever at the Red Rose supplied the info. Really appreciate it.

I thought the point of tape is that you do not cross it?

Maybe when it's fine (sort of) to step over we should use a different colour tape like yellow for 'caution'?

I'd agree - the rule is simple - don't cross conservation tape. Taping off bits that you can actually visit undermines the whole concept of conservation tape.
