Rickford Rising was up about half a metre on usual conditions yesterday, with visibility reduced to about 200mm, which made working with a 600mm drill bit rather interesting! The night before, it was still running pretty much clear...

The general concensus, speaking to various CDG divers is that the DST is just more to go wrong. It's quite easy to set up your hoses in a comfortable way for either side without the swivel, so why add the extra weight and extra mode if failure? I'll caveat that by saying that no two CDG divers...

I'd be very surprised (and a little worried) if anyone was still using A-clamp bottles for cave diving! Mind you, the alloy crabs don't seem to have fuzzed up too much, so they can't be that old...

This is definitely one of my favourite bits of the cave, though bits of Pissimism Passage are also well up there.

Well I was quite excited by it! Excited enough to submerge myself up to the neck and check out the sizable continuation following the dip of the roof.

I shouldn't say it, but it's quite a relief that the cave has finally shut us out for a bit. While it was still passable, it was hard to justify doing anything else, as every trip might have been the last! Time to rest the knees for a bit and get back to some neglected projects.
