    Petzl stop

I've got one that I bought in '86 that has the metal catch & that smooth plastic handle. They changed to a ribbed handle not long after IIRC. edit - That smooth handle cover used to fall off after a few use's too.

    Vertigo

Not quite sure where this fits into the normal vertigo thing. I had it about 15 years ago, feeling dizzy when walking down corridors or aisles in supermarkets. Sometimes I would just fall over without warning. Once & I was standing talking to a customer in their canteen, when I suddenly &...

I was 9 when this happened and still remember watching the news of this with my nan. I remember feeling as if it was my school friends it had happened to. I still think of them this way nearly 60 years later and still feel so terribly sad when I think of it. Lord knows how the surviving...

    This Acetylene Generator

I thought Russian one too. IIRC it had the ability to run pressurised! That could account for the extra holes/knob etc.

We (CCPC) put the stile in as a condition of access but I can't be sure who requested it. I've feeling it was "the farmer".

    Whalf Climbing Shaft blocked

Some turd has put quite a bit of effort into that. Quite a bit of the coe was cemented together, especially round the door area. Hopefully the ginging has held up, as its mortared, not dry stone.. It's on an RSJ, where it crosses the vein and on a concrete sill cast and pinned into the vein...

    Cycle touring: flats or SPDs?

Like walking in trainers for grip. Too boggy and you'll get wet feet but that's the case with MTB SPDs - especially if you don't seal the cleat holes well! Probably best to try before you buy. So unless you know someone with them, probably time to support your local bike shop.
