    Sheet steel

I've added some photos for a better idea of the sheets purpose. We also want to protect the lip of the bottom concrete ring, as seen in the second photo.

    Sheet steel

It's at the bottom of a 8m shaft so easy enough to lower. 1.2x1.2m is just the gross dimension, it will be cut further yet. It's going to be Sat on 3 x 28mm bars and we will be attaching hangers for blast protection...in essence its mainly for shuttering purposes, without having to remove the...

    Sheet steel

I was hoping to use up some old scrap/off cut rather than buying new. But that is a good price for the size of sheet and grade, Thanks!

    Sheet steel

Hi all. Thought someone on here may be able to help. Looking for a sheet of steel for a digging project. Ideally 4mm thick and needs to be a minimum of 1.2m x 1.2m. Not too fussed about condition, as long as it has no holes. Kind regards, Mike.

A new cave on Mendips - The Last White Rabbit Hole (Tuska's Last)

So we have still been working the site. Check out our blog: https://whiterabbitsholepriddy.blogspot.com/?m=1 For those who can't be arsed with that: Currently we're focused on the tooth dig, which to dig smoothly and efficiently takes 6 people although with hard work and staging it can be...

A new cave on Mendips - The Last White Rabbit Hole (Tuska's Last)

Made a little video this Wednesday 26th to show the draught at the muddy pit. Mike wise, Mike Waterworth in the video, with me filming some. Also a photo of a sandstone cobble about 12" long: Can anyone identify this fossil we found? About an inch long!:

A new cave on Mendips - The Last White Rabbit Hole (Tuska's Last)

Na all good. Can add the plan up to date, still yet to survey the corners of some of the bedding passage and the boulder chamber: The red cross is the final squeeze, just before Golden Key chamber, the blue line is where the boulder chamber comes in/goes and the green mark is the muddy pit...

JC opening up the clcite constriction midway down the bedding. Also some nice stal about. More bedding. Some pretties about. MIke Wise in photo. The muddy dig at the bottom of the bedding, the next breakthrough point...more like a medip dig now. We also found a boulder chamber just after...

A new cave on Mendips - The Last White Rabbit Hole (Tuska's Last)

The shaft bottomed out at 12m deep, from here it looked to dangerous to continue downwards, so we were forced to go horizontal into a slot slightly higher up. After a good couple of months engineering and stabilsing we progressed southwards. Geoff Newton in picture 31/07/22. 07/08/22 We got...

A new cave on Mendips - The Last White Rabbit Hole (Tuska's Last)

Many of you may have heard about this dig going on, or even seen it passing by. The site is next to a public walkway and roadside,so even if kept quiet it wouldn't go unnoticed...The land it is on however is private! The landowner has been kind enough to allow us to dig here, their request is...

Thou shall walk in Sandy Hole

I find it bizarre how a rift this wide with a solid ceiling can open up so low down from the surface, being under such an immense load. Fair enough if there’s a chert band above it, but the nearest chert band we discovered was about 5-6m below the wide section of rift we first entered. Very...

    Mount Olympus

Hi all. I’ve put a post up on Facebook (cavers of Facebook) and not had much reply. I’ve been interested in Mount Olympus for some years now since visiting it, it has the greatest elevation from sea level and it’s peak is at just over 2900m. From a little research I’ve learnt it has Triassic...
