    North End Pot

There is tonnes on loose rock on the large ledge part way, now, down llean bean aven and the gulley that leads to the eastern front. These were never cleared for heavy traffic. There are also fine mud formations at the bottom of the aven that will quickly be trashed without care. Oh and well done.

Far country ladder, which entrance did they go in via?

John any of your club mates able to construct such a thing as a SS ladder? I could go to peak and pinch theirs but it might not be long enough!

Far country ladder, which entrance did they go in via?

Thanks John. I guess a further question is should they now be removed/replaced? You have to have an srt kit for the pitch after the blow hole so you have it with you anyway. Obviously a rope and anchors would need installing.

Far country ladder, which entrance did they go in via?

There are now two ladders of both likely to be older than me that enable access to the blowhole and the passages beyond. I was wondering which entrance they had been take in through.

    Marilyn lid pin thingy

Pitlamp take if you take a few tools, screw drivers and small adjustable spanner with some stout string and you should be able to do a quick fix.

    Marilyn lid pin thingy

The wire that stops the large pin being lost has rusted through. Currently the pin is attached by the split pin but it could be easily dropped. Anyone able to attached in a more permanent way in the near future would be great.

Bit of old litter in GG

So what would encourage people to bring a bit out or tidy up a bit of the cave? Would leaving a few rubble stacks at key points encourage people to fill them if they were clearly labelled what they are for and that you didn't have to take out what you collected, is bringing out what you collect...

Bit of old litter in GG

After some trips via marilyn and bar I was going to contact the CPC and BPC to see if they could help during a winch meet to get stuff out. There is loads of rubbish in Bar Pot, not only the oversuit but under the boulder at the top of the pitch, a shoe/welly and loads of other batteries and...

    Wretched Rabbit Entrance Repairs

Hannah, I'm no expert on airflow in caves (or much else). But I think we should keep our impact to a minimum where-ever possible. For instance the tunnel upto the Battle Field in Whitescar (clearly not a great example) has a door to maintain the draught through it's orginial route, so I don't...

    Deaths Head Tree

The removal of the tree will hasten the rot of the roots. Stopping using the tree as a belay may enable it to survive some years yet and thus help to hold the top part of this bank together. I think a discussion about what we are doing in and around shakeholes which have a very different...

    Deaths Head Tree

Kay the tree being condemned as a belay is hardly surprising but maybe it shouldn’t be removed/ cut down. Maybe nature should take it’s course, ultimately it’ll fall down the hole but should we speed up that process.
