He's ascending at about twice the speed you should abseil (based on the rescue descender rating for a Stop, anyway) :)
 
I have a mate who was close to that time and tells me he once broke the previous record but not adjudicated so not recognised (unrecorded..? a bit like the tale of the fish that got away 🤣). But whether or not he did break a record he was 🤬!!! fast up a rope.

Although the various systems they use for rope running, including his system aren't particularly practical for passing rebelays, nor are the "abseil" devices used like a unicender (https://www.rockexotica.com/products/unicender)

Not frog system, it's a very different world to caving!

Also for caving rules. wouldn't the judges need to throw a large bucket of water and a second bucket of mud over the competitor and their ascenders, before they start
 
Some deckchairs would definitely come in handy at the Event Horizon in Titan - though I've never managed applause for my colleagues' progress up the pitch yet 🥶 😇
