First update on the 2026 Cave Science Symposium for all interested.
Preparations are now underway for the 2026 BCRA Science Symposium, which will be hosted by Dr Beth Fox at the University of Salford. The date will be Saturday
17th October, so please add that to your diary and stay tuned for further announcements.

Preparations for the Science Symposium on Saturday October 17th at the University of Salford are going well and an interesting programme of talks is being put together. Speakers include Syeda Maria Zainab, Stuart Umbo, Simon Bottrell, Andy Farrant, John Gunn, Beth Fox and Jo White. Field areas range from the Peak District to Siberia and subjects include microplastics, palaeoclimate, cave formation processes, karst hydrogeology and cave tourism.
It would still be possible to accommodate a couple more talks, plus we would love to see some poster presentations – if you have a project you’d like to present, please fill in the form here to let us know. Please also fill in the form to let us know if you’re planning to come! This really helps us with planning
