• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

The following are duplicates from the NPC library and are free to anyone who would like them. Collect from the Dales (ideally the NPC's "Greenclose" hostel near Clapham).

Please PM me if interested and we'll make arrangements.

Caves & Cave Diving (Guy de Lavaur) (1956)

Caves and Caving in Britain (Edmund J. Mason) (1977)

Ghar Parau (David Judson) (1973)

British Caving (Cecil Cullingford) (H/B) (1953)

Speleological Abstracts 1999

I would really love a look at the Guy de Lavaur one if it hasn't already been claimed? It may have some useful info on the original exploration at St Georges. I am diving with Louise later this month, hopefully that may help make a collection easy.

No problem; I'll set it aside for you.

Can you ask Louise to let me know when she's next in the Dales and I can pass it to her?

All yours; shall I drop it off where you work at some stage?

Or at your flat which I was involved in helping you find, assuming you're still there?

Best PM me direct.
