Aberfelleni Quarry and Mine

Hiking Guy just posted on Facebook that the landowner has now blocked off the entrance people used to get down below into the mine area with the dodgy ladder and rope. Apparently he's put a 6 tonne skate over the entrance. Not sure if its true.

To be honest im not surprised with the amount of people posting their social media videos with location this last year or so. That place is an accident or a death waiting to happen.

Aberllefenni - do you mean the one on the North/east of the road Foel Grochan?

Edit: apologies if I'm getting mixed up, but the description "dodgy ladder and rope" applies to quite a lot of mines 🤣

Gotcha... so the skip is over the hole in the debris on the adit that's on the side of the hill by the road? That'll keep the Instagram crowd out then. Edit and the divers 😡 although apart from P.M. not sure who dived there much, he's not currently mine diving as far as I'm aware (wishing health and recovery if he's reading stuff here)

I've been to the mine twice, never used the front entrances. I can't blame the owner as seeing some of the videos of people diving into the water and not having the basic safety gear I'm surprised nobody has been injured.

I jumble single and double letters and all sorts of spelling issues (any language), so it was purely good luck for me to get it right. Promise not to do it again
