• Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Access concerns for Ogof Sarn Bell

Unfortunately, last weekend a few of the digging team visiting Ogof Sarn Bell met Tony Donovan outside of the cave. Scaffolding, capping, and digging equipment had been brought and he was planning on widening the entrance to gain access to the dig at the end of Ogof Sarn Bell.

If anyone has Tony's contact details please send me a DM, or forward on my message. We currently have very tenuous access to the land including the cave, and have been explicitly forbidden from disturbing the surface. This includes leaving material such as scaffolding. The farmer was incensed about past groups using capping/bang for which digging, and visiting cavers were outright banned at one stage across his land.

I would love to get in contact, so that we can discuss perhaps collaborating but I worry at the current-trajectory, access to the land, and a promising new dig for the WSG may be lost.

Thanks,
Joe
