Aren't they affiliated to the Armchair Caving Association?
No, some members of the Potholing Pedants' Society were unhappy with the ambiguity of caving in and between armchairs, caving whilst sitting in an armchair versus people who didn't cave but expressed caving opinions. The whole thing became quite acrimonious and the resulting disaffiliation was inevitable.

Once upon a time only clubs could get permits from the CNCC, so I established a one man caving club called Yoredale Ferrets. The club had to be assessed by the CNCC to ensure it was bona fide, so I got a couple of mates together, and the official assessment took place down Bull Pot, Kingsdale. It seemed to work, as I had no problem getting permits thereafter.

The current system is no fun, as everything is too easy.

Some years ago a number of clubs were intending to participate in Pwll Du Cave Management meetings in order to improve access to Ogof Draenen. I can't remember all the names. but they included the Cwmavon Crochet Circle. Luckily their aims were achieved by other means.
