Alderley Edge new discovery?

Timber seems to do well at AE. The A frame at the bottom of Pot (Roman) shaft was good for 1600 years of so old and there was the oaken shovel that Alan Garner retrieved from underneath the school stage. That was probably about 200 years old at least.

It could be all the ley lines? Alderly Edge is full of neutral energy ley lines and the unusual amount of tree energy. Quoting from a reputable scientific journal:

"..With the huge network of large trees in the forest there are energy paths to be found everywhere throughout this site. Special care needs to be taken when working with tree energies, as the wrong sort of question or phrase often invites a disdainfully difficult or downright contrary response to that asked for. They do like to play games with you in here.."

ooops - correction - the oak shovel has been dated to 1750BC.

Re cobalt - it was Derbyshire lead miner James Ashton who discovered the cobalt deposit associated with the north/south fault running from Saddlebole to Findlow Hill Wood. It passes under the DCC visitor centre at the rear of the Wizard restaurant. Ashton - who sacrificed his salary for his share in the company but even lost this when the company called for more capital than he could provide - and yet he was the man down the mine doing the work!

The shovel could only have survived due to the copper content within it. It really is a remarkable story which can be found on youtube!

And yes this working is the 'cobalt' vein, which also cuts through EV and is part of Reeking mine, but we have had the ore analysed previously and it had very little cobalt in it, something of the order of 1%. A member has reference to Wedgwood dismissing the ore as not good enough, but perhaps at one time it was good enough for less refined pottery/glass? I like to think the Manganese was every bit as profitable but who knows!? That said, we have found some very black samples of Wad that we need to get analysed again. Apparently, the XRM machine has gone walkies at MMU or something else has happened, but they are currently sitting on a sample waiting for a chance to analyze it. I've also passed some of the purple fungus on to someone doing their thesis on mycology in places such as Alderley so they might find something to add to what we already know.

I would question which "reputable" scientific journal that paragraph originates from!
I think Georgius Agricola has the best thoughts on such mystical matters as advice for prospecting miners... And let's just put it this way, despite people walking around with sticks and rods for years, not one person has ever discovered this or other associated holes, or at least if they claim to have done so, not with enough confidence to start digging!

And that goes for the gold supposedly discovered in the 90's too (but that is another story I know little about lol)...
