An East Kingsdale project…

Strong turn out saw lots of buckets come out yesterday! The guideline for the barrel works really well and 30 odd barrels of rocks and gravel soared up the shaft with only one or two snags.
Very much an open invite so do feel free to message and come along, it’ll be a great trip when it “goes”

A productive trip yesterday with Pete and Long Bob saw a load more rubble shifted and the rift cleared out fully.
It was rather impressive watch the drill dust being blown straight out of the shaft by the draught while doing some SDS chiselling on a narrow bit where the new “super bucket” was catching.
A return is planned later in the week to do some rapid erosion and from the view you now get down the “floor” it seems to widen to maybe 8-10 inches after a metre and then widen more significantly after perhaps another metre or so, but we will see when we get that far…
We also concrete screwed some planks as shuttering to keep the bucket in the optimum position but they ended up a bit loose so that’s another job for me between night shifts to go and make them a bit more secure.

2m deeper today in an increasingly widening rift with most of the rubble just clattering down the big hole in the floor into the darkness.
A optimistic guess is now another 2-3m before it gets significantly wider…..
More importantly; the “Kingsdale Crochet Club” held its inaugural meeting with me, Grace, Andy Tharrat and Star the dog.
Membership open to all.
