Anchor Installer re-validation
On 2nd May, we held a re-validation event attended by three of our regular anchor installers, our Anchor Coordinator and our Secretary.
This was the first in what we expect will be a roughly annual event to ensure our installers are regularly getting-together to discuss techniques, technology and share opinions. We also hope to use future sessions to provide a structured opportunity for new installers to join the team (more announcements in due course).
In this session, we covered:
cncc.org.uk
We'd like to thank our team for giving up the best-weather day of the bank holiday weekend to help improve our anchor scheme. It was a really useful and informative day. If you have any questions, you can contact our Anchor Coordinator (see our website contacts page).
Finally, and importantly... Cavers are reminded of the need to perform a pre-use inspection of anchors, to ensure multiple belays so you are never reliant on just one anchor, and to report unsatisfactory anchors to CNCC so we can collect data and take remedial actions where possible.
