• Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Hi Everyone

Over the past few years, many of you have reported resin bonded anchors to us that have shown slight movement or defects. Thank you!

Through December, in between lockdowns and working within Covid Tier rules, a handful of our installers have been busy following up on several of these reports and have managed to undertake a number of anchor replacement projects across our region.

Please read the full report here: https://cncc.org.uk/news/20210114-anchor-replacements

Great work by our installers. Hopefully once things get more back to normal we will be able to take on some more of these projects :)

Continuing on from the work reported above, our anchor installer team have now inspected most anchors which have been reported as defective (wobbly) over the last several years. Defective anchors have been replaced in Alum, Diccan, Hardrawkin, Heron, Pool Sink, Rowten, Lost Johns', Notts, Ireby Fell, Marble Steps and Jingling. In each case, the replacement anchor is an IC anchor, installed with the most modern resin which overcomes previous shrinkage issues. Thank you to everyone who reported these!

Our thanks to the team for helping us to address this back-catalogue of reports and keeping the anchors in our most popular caves safe for the future.

Impressive amount of action in some of the more esoteric dales caves as well - Broken Finger, Newby Moss and Nemesis in Langcliffe all now IC anchored. Will no doubt make descents of all of these caves much safer affairs. A massive thanks to the installers!

Topos for Broken Finger, Nemesis in Langcliffe and Newby Moss are online now... you have beaten us to announcing these  :)
