Any recommendations for relatively new riggers in the Peak District?

Oxlow if it’s easy rigging practice you want. About as simple as it gets but still interesting. 4 pitches 1 deviation and I don’t recall any rebelays. The big ramp is interesting too.

Bagshaw (bradwell) down the pitch, need a key code (same website as Pete gave) -its three bolts

Other than that perhaps (stoney Middleton):
Merlin mine - 2 pitches not far from the surface (one at surface)
Eyam dale shaft to carlswark- 1 pitch through trip

Nickergrove also (stoney) has an internal pitch and an exit pitch - worth some research.

If you’re comfortable with rebelays, try robins shaft mine, (dove) approx 100m rope (check!!!) it’s fun and if your new to rigging is on a slope so definitely feels different to other trips (perhaps less intimidating for the length of rope?) you could take other lengths than 100m and see how you get on - deffo worth a shout in my eyes. https://peakdistrictcaving.info/home/the-caves/dove/robins-shaft-mine

Otherwise I love hillocks, knotlow area

Be aware access needs arranging in advance, I haven't yet received a reply to my email request sent 08/04/26 don't sure if this isn't enough notice or if the address of the owners is no longer valid.

Wow that looks interesting, is there much to see and explore inbye from the bottom of the shaft or is it mainly the slopey shaft itself?

Try her WhatsApp, that's the preferred option. It's on the PDCi listing.

Oh.. I don't use Meta (Facebook, WhatsApp etc).
The email address should be removed from the PDC if it's no longer used. There's nothing to say not preferred, in fact stated as to obtain the code at her email address

Perhaps the webpage is due to be updated if the email is no longer a preferred method?

Thanks Pete!

Robin' Shaft Mine has a lot of natural development going off near the bottom of the shaft. Includes an active dig that is still going down and down. Definitely worth doing. Also close to the Manifold valley, which is very picturesque and has plenty of speleological interest.

No, both are valid. She checks the WhatsApp more often though. I know both work because I checked with her and updated the access details on this page.
