I did look some 40 odd years ago and did not find much - all of which I have forgotten. Apart from one entrance I went to which proved to be little more than a rock shelter. I thought Speleo Abstracts was still functioning but it seems not. However, https://grottocenter.org/ui/map/0,0,2 will give you plenty nearby in France and Belgian. Also https://www.scavalon.be/avalonuk/cib_tabel.htm covers some caves in Belgium and highlights one near to north Luxembourg. Otherwise do some on line searching. I see that Luxembourg does have a range of underground features and to my surprise https://www.subbrit.org.uk/locations/luxembourg/ lists a number.

Not been to the Jura but there are caves: 'these cavities are as amazing as the history of the Jura's subsoils'. And they're closer to Luxembourg than the Berger.

Not been caving around Jura but fine some walking in forests round there and they have Lynx. Perhaps... Not actually seen one myself but according to the information boards at start of walks the woods are teaming with them! Lovely area, not too obvious an easy commute from Luxembourg though.

Lots of good caving in that se corner of Belgium near border to LXB. Many years since I was there though. There is a great tunnel in the city of Luxembourg which is accessed from the deep gorge running through the southern part of city. Think it's man made.was 30 years since I was there. You basically walk several hundred metres in from base of cliff and at the end is a lift which brings you up right in the middle of the city square. (My memory is hazy so take with pinch of salt)

Luxemburg is mostly sandstone but there are some sandstone caves.

If you go a bit more to the south (France) then there are a lot more possibilties in the Meuse Department.

-Savonnières ( multiple cave entrances are situated in a old mine, and it is allowed to camp in the mine)

Years ago I had a great week caving in the Ardennes area of Belgium. I thought the caves were reminiscent of Mendip from a size and also sloping bedding plane point of view. The problem was to avoid excess consumption of Belgian beer which tended to interfere with caving plans the next day!

Some extra info about Savonnières can be found here : Savonnières (you need to ask permission and then you get the number of the lock to enter the mine). During the upcoming easter weekend a few members are going to there and will sleep in the mine

How far to the south do you want to go?
- Doubs area - hunderds of caves
A bit closer but further then Savonnières there are some good caves in Haute Marne dept.

There’s lots of caves in the Petite Suisse area of Luxembourg, at Kopstall and Berdorf. Mostly rifts in calcareous sandstone, with Grotte Sainte Barbe at -45m and Trou du Diable at -27m. There was a newsletter called Ombres & Lumieres, produced by Charles Garnier in the 80s and 90s giving details. Grotte de Moestroff is a complicated maze nearly 5km long.
In nearby France, there’s the caves of the Meuse region which includes the Rupt de Puits at nearly 20kms and it provides some excellent caving. There’s several other caves near Bar le Duc and Savonnieres de Perthois.
