• Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Best trips in Grands Causses / Tarn Gorges?

A small group of us are heading to the Grands Causses for a week this October, staying close to Millau

Would love to hear everyone’s recommendations for favourite caving trips in the region. Anything goes, we’ll have plenty of rope and are keen for bigger days out but mainly just keen to know what trips everyone else has enjoyed the most.

Any resources (topos, descriptions etc.) would also be super appreciated - I’ve found a small selection online but would love more, especially if anyone happens to have any ready-translated ones

Thanks again for all your holiday planning help!

Been nearly a decade since I visited the Grands Causses but the standouts in my memory are the Aven de Bauomo Rousso for good rigging and fun SRT, Aven de Puech Negre for big deep SRT, Grotte Malaval for an AMAZING river through trip and decorations, and Aven Emilie for a short bimble with a huge stal.

I wrote an overview blog post about our club's trips there. Never did get round to making a document of useful information in English like the one you're seeking now, but I'll see if I can dig anything out of the archive.

Malaval a must do if you like Aragonite. The blues are a must see.

Some pics of Aragonite from the area and south of France

Hi
This is an area I know well go there every year in fact going there in 2 weeks
There is a caving shop in Millau called Horizon
I think the local library also has information on caves in the area
There is a book Comite Departmental de Speleologie de lAveryon
Explorations sous les Causes 2000-2015 covers all the the areas around the area
there is also a speleo sportive Dans Les Grands Causses
Aven de la Portalerie is a good place to start and easy to find does get groups caving in it
Abime du Mas Raynal is also easy to find
Aven Du Valat Negre also worth a visit
Aven Noir also worth a visit
I have done other caves in the area but too many to mention lots of stuff to go at
All close to Millau Please get in touch if you want to know more
Some very good Via ferrata nearby
