Zara Environmental, a consulting company located just south of Austin
in Manchaca, Texas, is seeking a project manager level biologist with
expertise in Texas endangered species. A minimum of five years of
field experience, familiarity with local environmental issues,
preparation of NEPA documents, and GIS is desired. This position may
involve work on avian, freshwater mussel, karst invertebrate, and
herpetofauna surveys. Work will include field surveys, report writing,
proposal preparation, and participation in projects such as habitat
conservation plans and environmental assessments.
The biologist will be expected to represent Zara Environmental at
meetings and before clients. This position will involve managing
projects and supervising other workers involved in those projects.
Most work will be located in central Texas, but out of town travel
typically lasting less than one week will occur from time to time. A
master's degree in life science is preferred. Salary will be
commensurate with experience.
